記者: Have you heard about the earthquake in CHINA?
有聽聞過關於中國地震的事嗎？

SS: Of Course I have.

記者：How you feel about it?
你的感想如何？

SS：You know it’s very interesting because you know at first I am unhappy about the way that the Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I think anyone shouldn’t be unkind to anyone else. So I have been very concerned about to how to… things and what to do about that. Because I don't like that. And I have been concerned about.. oh… how should we deal with the Olympics because they haven’t been nice to the Dalai Lama, who is a good friend of mine.. and the earthquake… and all the stuff happened… I think … is that karma? when you’re not nice that the bad things happen. And I got a letter from the Tibetan Foundation, they want to go and to be helpful. And that made me cry. and they asked me if I want to write a quote about that.. and I said I would (for) that is a big lesson to me that sometimes you have to learn to put your head down to be at service to people who aren’t nice to you. And that is a big lesson to me.

這是個有意思的問題，因為……你知道，首先中國對待西藏人的方式使我不快，因為我認為任何人都不應該不友善地對待其他人。所以我十分關注……有甚麼可以做的，因為我不喜歡那樣。同時我亦有注意關於……我們該怎樣看奧運，因為他們（中國）對達賴不怎麼好，他是我的朋友……然後有地震……這許多事發生……我想……這是業嗎？當你做得不好時就有壞事發生。我收到一封來自西藏基金的信，他們想去幫上一點忙。那使我哭了。他們問我想不想為這寫點甚麼……我說我會，這使我學會了很多。有些時候你需要卑躬侍奉那些對你不好的人，這使我學會了很多很多。
